Zoe Leonard: Survey
Zoe Leonard’s Homage is an ode to art historian Linda Nochlin, who asked the now famous question, “Why have there been no great women artists?” in her iconic 1971 ARTnews Magazine essay. For this site-specific installation, pieces of Nochlin's essay have been placed on walls where Whitney staff offices are visible from public areas — usually through windows or glass doors. Screenprinted text on wall, dimensions variable. Collection of the artist. © Zoe Leonard. Photograph by Ron Amstutz]
